ABOUT
Exclusively licensed, Dick Tracy | The Official Watch is a tribute to the famous detective’s iconic timepiece.
Originally prototyped in my workshop from a cast brass case finished with a CNC machine, hand filing, and home-plating in chrome, the official license was purchased such that it could be made in low volume by Longio Watch Company and sold to folks who share my passion for this iconic watch.
My brother and I partnered on this project with the intent to expand into a Bluetooth speakerphone-enabled model. After a successful Indiegogo campaign, our engineering/manufacturing firm went out of business without completing the watch and we were unable to overcome the resulting obstacles. All backers were fully compensated with refunds and copies of this quartz movement model. Someone ought to make a real working Dick Tracy watch, though. If no one does soon, I may have to try again!
